Background, History, Banking/BAI Experience
João Cândido Soares Moura Oliveira Fonseca began his career in 1993, working for renowned audit firms such as Deloitte, KPMG, and Ernst & Young. His first contact with BAI was in 1998 while conducting an external audit engagement, and he subsequently joined the Bank as an Internal Auditor between 1999 and 2001.
From 2001 to 2003, he held financial control positions at another bank and a holding company. Between 2004 and 2007, he performed similar functions within the Intertransports Center Group in Angola.
In March 2007, he returned to the banking sector as a Board Member and later Vice Chairman of Banco Regional do Keve S.A., a position he held until 2012. During this period, he also coordinated working groups within ABANC.
From 2012 to 2026, he served as an Executive Board Member of BAI. Concurrently, he held the positions of Non-Executive Board Member of União Comercial Automóveis, S.A. and Member of the Supervisory Board of BISTP.
