Remote Account Opening

How it works:

Complete the forms
Fill in the Client Information Form and gather all required identification and supporting documents (see the Documentation tab).

Document validation (optional)
You may email your documents in advance to: clientes.particulares@baieuropa.pt. However, this step is optional.

Document certification
Visit a CTT location to have your documents certified.

Send the documents
CTT will forward your certified documents to BAI Europa at no cost to you.
To remote account opening, you should go to a CTT store with the following documents:
- Valid ID card (to be certified by CTT);
- Proof of address, issued within the last 6 months and in the name of the account holder;
- Proof of profession, if you declare yourself as either employed or self-employed. This document should be no older than 3 months, issued in the name of the account holder, and it must contain the following information: issuer/employer name, client’s name, job title or professional category, and date of issue;
- Client Information Sheet completed and signed on page 1 and page 4.
This documentation must be provided for all named account holders, representatives, or authorised proxies.
Throughout the in-person process, the bank may request additional information.
