Mental Health
Promoting a culture of support for mental health issues, contributing to the reduction of societal stigma, and addressing the mental health challenges of employees.
An environmentally and socially responsible institution
At BAI Group, we believe that true sustainable development can only be achieved when the criteria guiding our decisions incorporate social well-being and sustainability. This ensures an economically viable, socially just, and environmentally responsible future.
Financial sustainability, alongside the way Banco BAI Europa utilises resources in developing its activities, is critical to the business.
Transparency, trust, and unwavering ethics are core values for BAIE, forming the foundation of our operations.
Since 2012, we have consistently adhered to corporate governance policies with the highest standards of transparency and responsibility.
Since 2012, Banco BAI Europa has been committed to the values of the Group and has directly and indirectly supported various charitable organisations. We believe that the inclusion of all members of society is fundamental to the development of the countries in which we operate. Corporate responsibility is a vital pillar of democracy and solidarity.
In the area of mental health, initiatives have been developed to promote a culture of support for mental health issues both within and outside the organisation. Recently, BAIE was founding member of MindAlliance Portugal and has made a psychological support programme available to its employees.
Sustainability is about doing more with less — minimising waste and reducing our reliance on finite resources.
In line with best industry practices, we actively strive to reduce emissions of polluting gases contributing to climate change, while optimising the resources we consume, such as paper and electronic materials.
Since 2022, we have been monitoring, forecasting, managing, and implementing ESG-related initiatives, achieving several key objectives. Our team continues to work actively to ensure a more sustainable future for all.
Looking ahead, BAIE has planned initiatives to address the planet’s challenges, staying attuned to the latest legislative, economic, environmental, and human developments. As part of our Corporate Solidarity and Social Responsibility strategy, we will focus on three key areas of intervention:
Promoting a culture of support for mental health issues, contributing to the reduction of societal stigma, and addressing the mental health challenges of employees.
Providing financial support to higher education students who face economic difficulties and demonstrate academic merit.
Supporting Private Social Solidarity Institutions that promote social inclusion and poverty alleviation, ensuring that donations are used directly for impactful actions.
Within Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability, we emphasise three key pillars, grounded in scientific evidence and best practices in the financial sector:
Actively seeking to reduce CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.
Addressing challenges and committing to global objectives related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and United Nations Financial Initiatives (UNEPFI), in alignment with the reality of Banco BAI Europa.
Promoting a sustainability culture among employees and suppliers, focusing on resource use and waste management (minimising disposable materials, reducing paper consumption, efficiently managing water, recycling, managing WEEE, etc.).
