On 6 February 2026, an exceptional moratorium regime came into force to support bank customers and borrowers of credit agreements who were affected by the impacts of Storm Kristin and other recent hydrological phenomena. This regime was approved by Decree-Law No. 31-B/2026 of 5 February.
