BAI – Banco Angolano de Investimentos, S.A., the parent company of Banco BAI Europa, was distinguished by Global Finance – a leading publication in the USA – as the Best Bank in Angola in the annual World’s Best Banks 2025 awards.
In 2024, BAI strengthened its position as a market leader in Angola, recording a net profit of 151 billion Kz and a 52% growth in net loans, reaching 707 billion Kz.
Despite economic challenges, the bank stood out with a strategy focused on sustainability and growth of its client portfolio, as well as strong financial performance and innovation capacity, demonstrated by the growth of BAI Directo.
BAI closed 2024 with regulatory own funds at 24.2%, one of the highest levels in the national financial system, reflecting solidity and resilience amid sector challenges.
The Chairman of BAI’s Executive Committee, Luís Lélis, emphasizes that this distinction “recognizes BAI’s solid growth and adaptability in a challenging context. In 2024, we accelerated the expansion of our client base, strengthened BAI Directo as the main relationship channel, and maintained a robust financial structure. We will continue to invest in digitalization, modernization of technological infrastructure, and expansion of our credit offerings, ensuring more efficient and accessible services for businesses and individuals.”
