SPIN, developed by the Bank of Portugal, offers an alternative to traditional bank transfers, allowing transactions to be made either digitally or in person without the need for IBANs.

If you are already a Private Client, to receive SPIN transfers, simply associate your mobile phone number with your account’s IBAN.
If you are already a Business Client, to receive SPIN transfers, associate the NIPC with your business account’s IBAN.
Here’s how to make this association via our App or Internet Banking:
1. Log in to your Internet Banking or App;
2. Go to Menu > Personalise > Settings;
3. Select SPIN > Associate;
4. Choose which IBAN you want to link to your mobile number or NIPC;
5. Click Next and validate the information.
To make transfers via SPIN, you do not need to make this association.
Fast, simple, safe, and with more advantages:
• The name of the first account holder or the company name is displayed before authorising the transfer;
• This is an alternative for recipients who are not MB WAY subscribers;
• No additional costs compared to regular transfer fees;
• It is now possible to transfer money to businesses using the NIPC, provided the company is registered and has a payment account with a Portuguese payment service provider.
