Background, History, Banking/BAI Experience
Omar José Mascarenhas de Morais Guerra began his professional career in 1999 as a financial auditor at Deloitte in Portugal, and was later invited to take on the role of tax consultant within the firm. At the end of 2002, he became Head of the Internal Audit Department at Banco BAI Europa, the Portuguese branch of BAI. In 2006, he was appointed Advisor to the Board of Directors of Banco BAI Europa, and from 2008 onward, he served as Chief Financial and Operations Officer of the bank.

Since 2013, he has been serving as Executive Director at Banco BAI Europa. Between 2014 and 2015, he also served as a Non-Executive Director at Fomentinvest – SGPS, a business group operating in the environmental and energy sectors. From 2018 to 2022, he concurrently served as a Non-Executive Director of Banco BAI and as a Member of BAI’s Risk Management Committee. In 2021, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of Banco BAI Europa.
